A ticker's trajectory is the complex manifestation of a large number of people's beliefs. Some win, some lose, few retire, and some lose a lot.
Collect Characters that represent the past 12-month price path of a ticker at the time of auction.
Use the Characters to take part in adversarial games experiments. Create a character portfolio and convince others to help you win the prize. Or keep them to commemorate a good trade.

Degen Ticker Land

Degen Ticker Land is a game of alliances and community. The objective is to win the Battle Treasury and be crowned ruler of all the lands.
In Degen Ticker Land there are 2 types of players: Character Owners and Wildcard Holders. Character Owners are the chosen rulers, but power sits in the hands of the Wildcard Holders, the keepers of the Lands. To win, players need to collaborate and find a shared cause.
In order to compete, you need to become a Character Owner. You can create a portfolio of one or more characters by winning the daily auctions.
But characters can’t win without allies. Character Owners must convince Wildcard Holders to stake their cards (which pledge their share of the Land) in support of their Characters & cause. The cause can be selfish, like sharing the Battle Treasury, or a higher purpose.

Meet the core elements

1/ Characters
Characters are NFTs that represent Tickers with various degen personalities, chosen to rule the land. Each Character has 6 personality traits, derived from the ticker's past 12 months price trajectory, at the time of auction. Consider the stats as a historic snapshot, they do NOT dynamically track asset prices after the auction.
2/ Daily Character Auctions
Each day, Degen Ticker Land auctions off a Character. 50% of each auction's settled price goes to the Battle Treasury.
3/ Wildcards
Wildcards are NFTs that represent land deeds. Each piece of land can boost or nerf the ruler's traits. For instance one might offer an extra 200% to volatility and 30% to ulcer index, but it also decreases alpha by 30%.
Think of wildcards as opportunities to rebalance the playing field. And because they are randomly distributed to community members, Character holders must convince others to support them in order to win.
Even though Wildcard owners cannot win directly, if they play their cards right, they can create value for their holdings.
4/ Wildcard Distribution
Wildcards will be distributed in 2 ways:
  1. Randomly received by community members for free (minus gas costs to claim them). Each day, Degen Ticker Land will release 25 wildcards up for grabs. Community members can collect them, as long as they do NOT own a character and have an ETH account with a good history.
  2. Distributed through incentive programs over the course of each Season Battle.
5/ Season Battles
Owning Characters allow you to participate in Season Battles. Think about Season Battles as experiments in game theory, and portfolio construction that run for a couple of months. Only Character holders are eligible to compete. At the end of each Season, three battle winners are crowned, by applying the battle formula and stack ranking all players. The Battle Winners will receive 50% - 35% - 15% of the Battle Treasury, with the prize funds automatically released at the end of the Season.
6/ Battle Treasury
The battle treasury represents 50% of all the funds collected through character auctions.
7/ Battle Winners
Battle Winners are determined at the end of each season, based on a formula that changes every season, with the top three places splitting the Battle Treasury 50% - 35% - 15%.
All Battle elements are public: each Season’s winning formula, the leaderboard, the Character and Wildcard holders, and the auction schedule.

Why this community?

This community strives for an open atmosphere for all walks of life — we are a social incentive game and want anyone to enter/explore/play as themselves. The cherry on top is for all players to enjoy the art embedded into our game — we love the characters as much as you do. The nerds that we are cannot wait for people to learn and figure out the Nash Equilibrium for different scenarios. There are no friends on the “court,” like in any battle, but we hope to be friends afterward. If this hypes you up as much as it does for us, you’re one of us.

Culturally awkward by design

We are a bit awkward by design, if you couldn’t tell from our community ethos. We aren’t your crew to be in Ibiza partying on the weekends, but you’d find us with a stiff drink playing board games. You know this game has made it when we can convince Taleb to yell at us for an hour for not understanding convexity (you’d guess right, we’d probably enjoy every minute of it).
